The Adult New Patient Exam

Your first visit is all about you: your comfort, your happiness, getting to know your dentist and your health.
Our office prides ourselves in our New Patient Exam. The goal of this exam is for the new adult patient to get to know their dentist and his staff and for us to get to know the patient, creating a relationship that we hope will continue for years.
Our adult new patients are scheduled for one hour with Dr. Blum or Dr. Tinsley. This appointment is divided into three parts. The first 20 minutes of the exam is the interview. At this time Dr. Blum or Dr. Tinsley will get acquainted with you personally and find out what your dental wants and needs are.
The second 20 minutes of your appointment is with the assistant. She will be taking all necessary x-rays and photos so that the doctors can assess your treatment needs.
The final part of your exam with be the visual clinical exam by the dentists. He will look at each one of your teeth while his assistant records his findings.
After this exam, the patient will visit with our financial and scheduling team. You may be set up with a consultation with the dentist in the near future after he goes over your x-rays and exam chartings to decide the best treatment plan for you. This appointment will be a continuation of your New Patient Exam.
The other option after your exam is for us to schedule your cleaning with one of our hygeinists at a date in the near future.

The American Dental Association recommends a visit to your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
We understand you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit our office, please remember your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes.
